"Death
by Sleep"
As
I lay me down to sleep
Death
appears beneath my feet
The
air is dark
The
room is cold
Get
a good nights sleep
I
was always told
So
in bed you stay
and
you begin to pray
to
your God
you
ask for one more day
I
will not die before I wake!
My
soul is not available to take!
I
think this is fair
to
whom do I dare
Be
positive and strong
and
not utter that morbid prayer
There
is nothing you can do
Death
will eventually overcome you
And
here you stay
It
is the human way
to
do nothing
for
eight hours a day
What
a waste of time
this
crosses my mind
No
love can be given
No
more words can I rhyme!
Do
I fight this
and
stay awake forever?
Is
there anything I could take
to
give me the pleasure?
Dont
call it a spat!
I
HATE YOU!
Dont
you know that?
You
just want to play
and
I dont feel like it today
Frozen
in space
lifes
ultimate crime
it
is here we waste
our
precious time
I
know they laugh
I
cant see their face
"Look
at these humans
What
a pathetic race!"
The
need to rest
makes
us our best
We
cant avoid
deaths
pending void
We
dream away
as
our bodies lay
Down
comes the sun
Another
days spent energy done
Oh
but again we are born
into
a new days morn
The
cycle begins
we
awake, eat, rest, and sin
This
is so crazy, this routine
We
have to get up, shower, and again make our bodies clean
We
get into the mood and
slide
into lifes cool groove
Oh
no! Wait! What happens next?
We
follow the leader and hope for the best?
No
way! Not me! I fail to see the pleasure
you
get from that endeavor
I
am alone into this world I was thrown
And
here I stay trying to extend this day
Again
I have lost my energy
I
have no time and no reliance
Look
who has come back
Its
death with his sound of silence
